the wombats

The WombatsA Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation is out (5 Nov). I picked up the album this week and it is as exceptionally enjoyable as I hoped it would be. I would highly recommend this album to just about anyone. Hopefully this release will serve as a launching platform for the band and we will hear many more enjoyably tracks from them in the future.

The Wombats have a single due out in 5 days and their first album set to debut globally on 5 Nov (A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation). Wikipedia reports that the three-piece has a large following in China and have played to crowds of over 20,000 people. Now that would be an experience. These tracks are pop punk gems that pay homage to their roots. Let’s Dance to Joy Division particularly, is a great throwback to a band who’s impact is surprisingly large.
