Kingdom Underground is a mellow and emotionally charged LP created by the Philadelphia area native Matt Duke. I particularly enjoyed Spilt Milk, which to me, demonstrates that you can still create a meaningful track while avoiding overproduction pitfalls.

Honeybee began as a solo project by Melissa Geary, and has recently evolved to encompass some of her close friends. The band is in the process of creating a full length album, but in the mean time we have Quilt to enjoy. Although only a compilations of demos, this EP caught my attention as something epically different. Listening through the rough tracks I was taken by their concrete simplicity. If I had to describe this collection in four words they would be: simple, elegant, creative, and inspirational. KILLYRDARLINGS’s exceptionally eccentric dance-able beat caught me by surprise and is definitely my favorite track. I look forward to hearing more from Honeybee in the future.
